Dr. Ma. Leticia Jose Cabaña-Basilan

Ma. Leticia Jose Cabaña Basilan is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Banking and Finance granted as University Scholar (PD 451) in the University of Batangas and Provincial School Board Scholar, 2002. She likewise took Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English, in the same university, 2006.

Ma’am Bonsai (aka) finished her Doctorate (Doctor of Philosophy in English Language Studies) and Masters (Master of Arts in English Language Studies) in Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas with the highest honors, Academic Excellence Award. She also finished online courses in Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts (Ancient Masterpieces in World Literature) and University of China sponsored by Semeo Innotech (Teach On: Keep the Passion Alive).

Her devotion in teaching leads her to write several books, researches and instructional materials specifically for English Language. Some of these are Scaffolding: Bridge to English Language Proficiency; Learning Styles and Teaching Strategies in Bauan Technical High School; Basis for Learning Enhancement Program; Facilitation Techniques towards Enhancing K-12 English Language Proficiency of Different High Schools: Basis for Intervention Program. Her research writing passion leads her to develop LIBRO NI BONSAI, a google application which offers SHS materials. She attended several research conferences, both local and abroad. More so, she was a 3-time Regional Demonstration Teacher in English Understanding by Design (UBD) and in English K-12 (Grades 8-9) and the Provincial Ambassador of Quipper School-London.

Presently, she is a Master Teacher in Bauan Technical High School (SHS), Bauan District Research Focal Person, BTHS Research Center Committee Chair and Batangas Province Division Research Committee Member. She is an active member of Philippine Association of International Researchers; International Association of Scholarly Editors; International Association of Peer Reviewers and Batangas Research Association for Value Driven Education.

Basilan works at Bauan Technical High School (Bauan, Batangas) since 2006 to present as English Language Teacher and Cultural Affairs Coordinator. She also works as a part-time professor in the Lyceum of the Philippines – Batangas, Graduate School. She particularly teaches in Instructional Materials Development; Advanced Academic Writing; Discourse Analysis; and Advanced Research and Statistics. Now, Basilan is a scholar of Arizona State University taking up the Online Course on Blended Learning.
